From launch placeholder to visible shop
19. July 2026
Skaldify currently uses two layers: a calm public homepage as launch placeholder and, below it, the growing WordPress and WooCommerce shop. This separation is intentional. The homepage can communicate that Skaldify is being built, while the shop area can already be tested and designed.
The first step was a static landing page. It loads quickly, stays independent from the shop system and can later carry countdown information, social links and launch notes. WordPress remains active in the background without taking over the entire main domain immediately.
Why not put everything on WordPress at once?
Because a shop is more than a homepage. Product pages, categories, cart, checkout, downloads, payment providers and legal texts must be checked separately. A visible layout is useful; an unchecked sales process would not be.
That is why the shop area is exposed as a preview while the homepage remains the launch page. Product cards, categories, covers, prices and cart elements can be inspected in the real layout without treating the whole public presence as final.
Current status
The shop is visible for review. Products can be checked in context. Real commercial readiness still requires legal review, payment setup, fulfillment checks and at least one test purchase.
